“I was Un….satisfying with the picture I took” π
May be is the timing not correct, or my skill still worst.
I quite some time did not went for outing, and this week end, I went for outing with Johnathan, we went there around 5pm and the sky did not act nice, there are some black crown and seen like going to rain. Lighting is the most important for photography, without good lighting, produce worst picture.
I am using the standard lens only, the highest aperture I have is 5.6f after Zoom, still cant make a good effect on this.
The picture above look nice when viewing in my camera LCD, but after view with my computer, yuck~ the color are not sharp at all. I wonder if I shoot this picture with some morning sun light will be better or not.
The sky color, again… yuck~ without sun light, really cant get nice picture, and I should adjust the angle up a bit, to avoid the leave come in.
This picture no comment, er…may be a pretty model stand inside the windows will make this picture more nicer.
Overall for this picture, I still not satisfy with the color, and 1 more thing I told Johnathan, should we go to BANG down the lamp post before we shoot this picture π
π sun light may bring this picture better
Damm, the angle again, I should adjust a bit more, Seriously I am not so comfortable with using the view finder yet, when I view it, I did realize the building are appear in my view finder
At last the topic of the days, Ferry, but we did not get a good angle to shoot ferry, so just one picture to share π
That all for my 1st outing, and hopefully this coming week end I can have another outing with Johnathan.
Ops… I forgot, this week end I will go to KL and followed to genting
A good start though. things would get well with more practice
great! You will be improve soon, and hope to see more picture soon
Post processing…..
Photoshop……
Nuff said………
i think some of the photos will look better with some post processing, but still is your first time with the camera, will improve for sure. Take some nice pics at Genting!!
now tat u’ve gotten a D80, it’s about time u master the art of PS…lol
good try…hehe…
Practice makes perfect. Keep up the good work. Yes, you need good sunlight to produce better photograph. Cases like this, you need photo editing software like Photoshop to adjust the color level to make it more presentable.
Looking forward to seeing more of your outing pix.
You need to play around with White Balance. The last 2 pics look a bit yellowish.
try to re-take pic no.1 with a nikon 50mm f1.8 and i’m sure u’ll be poison by the big aperture.
advice from master vincent !!
go for f/1.2, the effect is way much better..lol
waaa i miss png so much!!
Vincent > I not sure why when i see the view finder, feel a bit yellowish if compare what ever my eye see! Not sure is normal or the lens problem
Vincent & Cavin > wa… f1.8 should burn my wallet man! how much was it? I check before 70-300mm with f2.8 already cost 6.5K
get the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR enough already.
hardly use up to 300mm unless u shoot events like JapanGT.
Vincent and I are using 70-200mm f/2.8…no regrets…
All in all , your shots are nice! And you will get better by just shooting and shooting …cool DSLR you have π
this place is beautiful i love them! the view was so nice, great job!
Calvin > your 70-200mm f/2.8 cost you how much? I need to start collect money for that already
mine is the EF 70-200 f/2.8 L IS USM
cost about RM7000 ++
Vincent’s 70-200 f/2.8 is a Sigma. Not too sure about the price…
not bad π Practice make a good photographer , cheer up!
my sigma is a second hand, got it for RM2k
get the nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR if budget allowed π
the canon for some reason cost more than the nikkor π
sigma is the cheapest
Wow… I am a complete idiot coming to DSLR. That 70-200 f2.8 VR… I understand it’s aperture biggest can go up to f2.8, but is it considered pretty big?
70-200 means what? Can zoom very far is it?
VR I know is vibration reduction. π Hehe…
Calvin is a rich guy. Can buy so expensive lens. π That lens is in my wish list by the way. π
Post processing will help a lot on your photo. Make sure you take your photo in RAW mode.
Sigma nevertheless is still a great lens.
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 cost about RM5000++ now. For some reason, Canon’s more expensive. Maybe just because it’s an L lens !!
For a telephoto lens, 70-200mm f2.8 is considered the most acquired lens alongside f/4.
The most expensive lens in the market currently is the Canon 1200mm, cost about RM450,000. Tats the price of a double storey terrace house !!!
wow.. oklar.. Mine.. I just bought my babe not long ago too. Not yet post it kok.. Hiak hiak..
Am still learning to get the right angle and everything that I need to know bout dSLR.
Kitkat > the biggest aperture i saw before was f1.4, and the 70-200 is the mm, which mean can zoom till 200mm, normal camera will be 35mm
Jayce > ya, same to me la, just in my wish list… hope can buy 1 too
Cavin > I plan to get a 70-300 with f5.6 nikkor tele lens soon, price around RM380++ if not mistaken… any comment with this lens?
the 1200mm should be for those shooting world cup one, huge lens
next time find some penang dslr gang and go shoot out together. =D
be frank, the pic look quite nice….. maybe ur view no same like mine lor……….
Nicholas > currently we have 2 DSLR member here, we look for more partners, so we can share with each other… if don mind drop your contact to me, will let u know when have outing
How much you bought your D80? Got what in the package?
Kitkat > I bought this D80 kit set with MYR3600, additional filter MYR50 and a bag for MYR30, the price is dropping a lot compare to last NOV 07 still MYR4200
hey there calvyn, actually some post-processing can do wonders to your pics. I’ve borrowed 2 pictures from here, and i’ll do some post-processing on it and see if you’re happy with it.
Photography is challenging and I’m sure that you’ve faced the challenges already. Patience is a virtue, so keep on shooting, look for lessons online, look for mentors if possible.
Equipment can only enhance your photographic perspective. If one doesn’t know how to best use the equipment, no matter how high the technology or how expensive the equipment are, it’s the photographer who takes the pictures.
Hope to see more of your work mate. Take care.
syafiq > Sure you can get my picture, let me see the effect after you process if convenience.
I still don have knowledge on post process, still on my way to learn. I hope can learn more from all the pro one. π Wish you can give me more comment on my up coming picture too π
calvyn: if u plan to get a tele, get the 70-300 VR lens. It is a good lens.
Vincent > with VR is very expensive, still not yet have that budget yet, I am planning either get a normal 70-300 (less then RM400) or a 50mm f1.8 lens which also less then RM400 one.
Still dono which one to grab 1st
get a tele-photo one first.
50mm f/1.8 can wait. Can compensate with ur kit lens
Agree with Cavin. The 50mm, although it is f1.8, could wait. Invest on the VR technology, there’s nothing compared to blurred photos due to camera shake, etc. Though expensive, you’ll feel the satisfaction when you start taking photos.
dude~ VR technology around how much? if i look for 70-300mm???
i have to say the pictures turned out nice π i am having a hard time getting good angles when it comes to scenery π
very nice port picture
