This week was my 1st week working in Motolora, life there was not hard as my expect, but I feel very tension since I am very new there. A lot of new gadget there, especially motorola’s switches and routers which not available at the market; Unfortunately, it is not allow to bring camera in and unable to capture some nice photos 🙁
Plan to have 3 days movie
Soon I will talk more about what I learn over there 😀 After spending a whole hard week there, I was planning to have some entertainment to release my tension; planning to watch movie on this following long week end, 1st, 2nd and 3rd MAY with my friend, unfortunately, the cathay cineplex make me down again 🙁 yes, is AGAIN.

Is worth for me to continue support Cathay Cineplex?
This week end, again I convince my friend to join me at Cathay Cineplex with using my CitiBank Clear Card Promo (as above show), promise to treat them popcon and soft drink, and planning to watch movie with this promotion for the following 3 days with different friend. Unfortunately when I at the counter, the cashier told me the credit card machine having problem and unable to use the promotion. WTF!
Attn to CitiBank, your partners is letting you lose business
So, I have to spend extra for the movie and popcon for my friend since I already promise. Following 2 days movie have to cancel, since I am unable to confirm the credit card machine is working well or not. Cathay Cineplex really have lousy service! You are loosing business and also your partners Citibank
Unsatisfied case happen few month back
Few month back, when I visit Cathay Cineplex during Chinese new year, that days is friday, the ticket on that noon was RM6 only. When I arrive there, I show the cashier my Citibank Clear Card for the promotion, Unfortunately, the cashier told me a ridiculous reply:
Me: I know the price is RM6 per ticket now, but can I still use this promotion?
Cashier: Now cannot use, because this offer is RM8, more expensive, suitable to use at others time.
Me: I instead want to pay more can or not?
Cashier: Sorry, this promo cannot be use right now
Damm, this promo can be use at any time include Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday. Accoding to CitiBank, because the bank has already paid the fees. While the cashier told me cannot. After he asking the supervisor over there, supervisor also said cannot. (The staff there seem like no knowledge on their own product) I can’t have much argue with them, since the supervisor already said cannot.
Feed back from Cathay Cineplex
After that, I was planning to blog about this issue, but I plan to keep it low profile and just send an email to CitiBank and Cathay Cineplex head quater at s’pore. After few days, they respond my email, asking my contact number so that they can call me up to understand more. Eventually, some one from Penang branch call me up, should be their manager who name Fitry; After understanding the whole story, he apologize with me because his staff fault. He promise provide me some freebie when my next visit. But… every time when I call up him, no answering phone. May be is week end, he no working, so I just forget about it.
As a Summary, today is Labour day (1st of May), might be this reason, they give excuse for credit card machine unable to function. Was this consider SCAM Promotion? If this promotion not available, please take off, and I will not keep my Citibank credit card any more (Only reason I use citibank as my primary card is because have this good promotion)
No next time visit to Cathay Cineplex if they do not have a good explanation for me. I am really not satisfy with them, will send their headquater this article, and carbon copy to Citibank

They should honor the promotion price even though the machine is down. I remembered Ayamas did the similar promotion as well, what I need to do was just showing my Citibank credit card for discount, I can even opt to pay by cash or other credit card.
so bad impression by them… even in Sabah cathay not so good busines especially their customer service…
Scam promotion, lousy seat, some branch even change movie schedule at their own. I prefer MBO, more comfortable seat!

There are always no crowd when new movie is on show. You might get to there if there are no seats at queensbay/gurney in penang. 😡
It doesn’t make sense for you to send an email to Cathay HQ in S’pore, what can they do?
This goes to show that Cathays in Malaysia doesn’t even bother to have a HQ which you can send emails..
And this would also maybe explain why, like you said, the staff and the supervisor have even no knowledge themselves.. There is no Cathay HQ Malaysia to even brief them ..
